1. Introduction

Nivra ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Nivra mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Anonymous Account: We create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. No email, name, or personal details are required to use Nivra.

Audio Recordings: Audio files you record are stored on your device and optionally uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage for transcription processing. Audio is processed and not retained after transcription is complete.

Transcriptions & AI Content: Transcribed text, summaries, quizzes, and flashcards are stored in Firebase Firestore associated with your anonymous user ID.

Usage Data: We track transcription minutes used per month to enforce plan limits. No personal usage analytics or behavioral tracking is performed.

Subscription Data: Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. We do not process or store payment information directly.

3. Third-Party AI Services & Data Sharing

Nivra uses third-party AI services to provide its core features. Before using any AI feature for the first time, the app asks for your explicit consent. Below is a detailed breakdown of what data is shared, with whom, and for what purpose:

3.1 Groq Inc. — Audio Transcription

• Data sent: Your audio recording file
• Purpose: Convert speech to text using the Whisper V3 Turbo AI model
• Retention: Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored by Groq after transcription completes
• AI training: Your audio is NOT used to train AI models

3.2 Groq Inc. — AI Text Processing

• Data sent: Your transcription text (the text output from transcription)
• Purpose: Generate AI summaries, quizzes, flashcards, and key points from your transcriptions
• Retention: Text is processed in real-time and is not stored after generation completes
• AI training: Your text is NOT used to train AI models

3.3 Google Firebase

• Data sent: Audio files (temporarily for transcription), transcriptions, AI-generated content
• Purpose: Secure cloud storage, user authentication (anonymous), and server-side processing via Cloud Functions
• Retention: Audio files are deleted from cloud storage after transcription. Transcriptions and AI content are retained until you delete them.

3.4 RapidAPI — YouTube Transcripts

• Data sent: YouTube video IDs (not your personal data)
• Purpose: Retrieve publicly available video transcripts/subtitles
• Retention: No user data is stored by RapidAPI

3.5 RevenueCat

• Data sent: Anonymous user ID and subscription status
• Purpose: Manage in-app subscriptions and purchases
• Retention: Subscription data is retained per RevenueCat's policies
• Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Important: All data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). None of these services use your data to train their AI models. You are asked for explicit consent before any data is shared with AI services.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase services with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your anonymous user ID through Firebase Security Rules. No other users can access your recordings or content.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. Since accounts are anonymous, data is tied to your device via Keychain. To delete your data, contact us at support@nivra.app and we will remove all associated data within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Nivra is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.

7. Advertising & Tracking

Nivra does not display advertisements and does not use any tracking or analytics SDKs. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your data
• Request a copy of your data
• Object to data processing
